a smidge below 4 starswhat I liked:Sarah Mayberry has a way with characters. I love how there are no TSTL moments. They are mature adults with no game playing. The hero and heroine are very likable with realistic dialogue and natural thoughts. The hero, especially, is such a good guy. What I wasn't crazy about:I've decided I don't care for the widowed character hung-up on the dead spouse trope.I don't mean to sound unsympathetic. In this particular story, the spouse that died was only gone for a year, so I get it. I, personally, get tired of 'oh, I'm being unfaithful to my spouse'.I also felt the narration became repetitive and it took the H/h too long to work through it. I didn't get to experience their HEA. It needed an epilogue!
