Something was off with this book. Can't quite put my finger on it. It was cute but somehow the flow or cadence wasn't right. On paper, the H/h were likable but I didn't really feel it. That grandmother was supposed to be (I guess) kind of free-thinking? but the way she was sacrificing her grand daughter was just gross. And the villain needed to have his comeuppance for me to feel satisfied.I felt there were a lot of contradictions with the characters. I'm so disappointed with this Bevelstoke series. I hope JQ hasn't lost her groove.
